Introduction

Vela combines modules, controllers, dependency injection, and a request pipeline with Cloudflare Workers and Hono. Start with a small application and add optional integrations as you need them.

Create a Workers API

Use Node.js 24+ and pnpm 11.11.0:

pnpm dlx @velajs/cli@latest new my-api
cd my-api
pnpm install
pnpm dev

Then request http://localhost:8787 to receive {"message":"Hello from Vela!"} from an injected service. Local development requires no Cloudflare login or database.
